is this normal???

hi guys i have a 12" audiobahn aw1200n powerd by an MTX Thunder 4001 class d amp,,, well when i was drying the car i opend up all the doors including the trunk, and had my stereo on,, when i opend the trunk it kinda smelt burnt, so i sniff around the opening of the port of the box and it smelt burnt,, i was wondering if this is normal??? the gain and bass boost on the amp are both half way up, and only putting out 400 watts rms to the sub,,,

thats definetely not normal, you probably have a loose wire somewhere

if their brand new then it might just be some of the glue in coils burning off, mine did that for a few days then it went away. but i would definately make sure

alright yall thanks for yalls input,, so if this sub goes out on me what do yall suggest as a replacement??
