You can tell that this guy is clueless and the civic is not tuned. What other factors contribute to that weird idle?

no thats not knocking, thats just a dumbass that threw a turbo kit onto his car without knowing how one works

that knocking sound you hear is just the cams. If the engine were knocking you would hear it get louder and louder as he reved it.

Hmm, I had no idea cams can make such a noise. Is it safe to rev a turbo when a motor is immediately turned on(assuming its already warmed up)?

its important to let the turbo warm up and cool down properly.....without doing so, will shorten the life of the turbo.
