So i own a 98 civic ex 1.6L sohc.

Recently changed:
Fuel pump
Timing belt
Battery
Thermostat
Radiator fan switch
Thermo sensor
( All three temp sensors)
All three belts
Knocker sensor
Head gasket
Plugs and sparks
Intake gasket
Radiator hose.

The civie has 139k on it.
The problems are as follows
Starts fine in the morning, after driving to a gas station about 2 miles away, ot wouldnt start. Given yes, i didnt realize it had a carborator so i went from off to full crank, sometimes it doesnt start. Have to wait about 10 minutes, then it starts.

Driving down a highway at 75+ no issues or lights, loose power to engine, lights and radio stay on. Pull over, no leaks or breaks or any signs of visible issues. Wait a few minutes, runs like a new born. At 75 mph rpms are at 3k at 65mph, rpms at 2.5k

Dont know whats wrong?

Had it tested

Obly code is something with the trans. But it remained pending and i have no issues with the trans?

Any ideas guys??..or gals?. received_10207809404007611.jpeg received_10207809408087713.jpeg

-.-' ... it also shut off at a redlight.

Your car is not carburated but fuel injected. Otherwise, I have trouble understanding what you said. Therefore, all I can suggest is to address the transmission code, and let us know what it is, then go from there. Good luck.

Checked codes again, now their are no codes. I checked the intake valve seal, it was leaking oil into the sparks and choking the engine, also i just changed the dizzy plugs. Problem has stopped for now!, What a pain.

Thanks man.!

What do you mean, for performance?
You can add anything to it that a you can add to a manual.
Being an auto, just drive it and enjoy the reliability and fuel mileage.

You can install a K&N drop-in air filter, perhaps service the fuel injectors, stay on top of all the maintenance, and enjoy the reliability because nothing else is really worth performing on an automatic tranny. You could also change to a quality muffler only if you desire improved sound.

An air filter is not a cold-air intake. Look it up at KNfilters.com.

Even an intake wouldn't "rice it", you just wouldn't see any performance benefits out of it. As @HeX said, a K&N drop in filter is your best bet.
