a friend of mine posted this on id. any suggestion guys?

My door speaker is mounted through the speaker mount, straight into the door, and i have been getting a electrical feedback for the past couple days. Checked it today, and taped up conections so i would not ground out, but as i was puttin speaker back in i noticed sparking where the screw goes into the door, which caused stereo to fail, what would make this happen?

I have already rewired stereo twice and its still doin it.

shouldn't be installing any stereo equiptment with the battery still connect... if he was putting the speaker back into the door when this happened, and the stereo was off, there's another electrical problem somewhere in the door... perhaps a power window wire, or power door lock wire... when the speaker's touching it's giving the grounded electrical connection somewhere to jump to (hense, the spark).... your friend needs to check ALL his electrical connections in and around that door.... a problem like this could also lead to a fire in the right conditions.
