Well im looking to buy a new car. There is only one problem i want a dodge! I know that some of you have passed out or are goin into convulsions over what you just read, but let me explain. Curently i own a 96 lx. I would be more than happy to tune the hell out of this ride being that it is my true love (honda + civic), but its a piece of crap and would rather buy another car that has not been through as much "drama". I have test drove the new srt-4 and am impressed at its power and handeling. Theres not much complaining when a 20,000 dollar neon can take on the likes of 30,000 dollar sports cars. The complaints can be sumed up in two easy words "DODGE NEON". Please do whatever it takes to sway me down the path of rightouesness and convience me to buy a honda. Post pics of sic fifth gens. Or put some links so i can see some videos. I am very into the clean look of jdm although i do not care for any particular style. I hope that instead of falling into the temptation of buying the dodge i can be hooked back on my first love (hondas). So im looking for tunning tips and style on creating a fifth gen street killer. I was looking at a b16 turbo setup in a hatch before i was neon blinded. Please remind me of the performance and reliability i would be missing out on if purchasing the srt-4 before its too late.

(im guessin) thats a total of 15g....do some other things to it to spend a total of 20g on a integra..man...droolz...

neon performance > them
neon overall performance<honda overall performance

The SRT-4s are badass, and it would be easy to get a civic to that speed but then it wouldnt be brand new. Get the SRT-4 and let us know how it goes its new so they still have there flaws that will take a while to squeek out of there system. If your going for speed you can get a honda faster then a SRT-4 for less money if you just want a new car get the SRT-4 good luck man.

Sounded like someone couldn't shift worth a damn on the video. Sounded like someone kept hiting the rev limiter. Careful on the srt-4's I've heard that they aren't very stable in the turns, they roll easily. Not sure if its true but worth looking into.

Both sides make a convincing arguement. But HKS has a kit to mount a K20 in the 5g Civ. RSX-S with that motor gets 200 crank hp. Not much less than the SRT-4, and the Acura doesn't even have a turbo yet. So if you pick up a 5g CX or VX hatch for about 2000, go to junkyards for the motor (probably another 2000, then you buy a turbo or supercharger kit (2000 to 5000), and allow about 2000 more for detail pieces, you'll decimate the SRT-4 in hp, all while weighing and spending less. I do have a soft spot for the SRT, though.

SRT4's arent your typical neon, they just share similar body styles.....they are nasty. I would get one all day long. But I would take a 04 civic hatch over a SRT4.......hell, if you going for it look into the nastiest cars around (off the lot) and look into either a Lancer or a STi....those are my dream cars (that I could actually afford)... Not only for the performance, but the fact that they have all wheel drive.....it gets snowy up here in MA.....wish my civic was all wheel :(
