Umm.. no it's not.. in STS you're allowed i/h/e, hi-flo cat, pulleys, short shifter, tires down to treadwear 200, and any bolt on suspension except for sub frame reinforcement (like ASR or Beaks braces). Any coilovers, strut bars, and sway bars are allowed. I'm running Ksports with custom 12k/8k spring rates. I was planning on going Koni/GC for the longest time.. but then I got in on a heckofa deal with Ksport. Decided I would rather show people that some "jdm bling annodized orange" supsension is just as good, if not better than, the "tried and true" classic Koni/GC setup.

It's worked perfectly so far ;)

Yep, those pics were on stock suspension. The Si actually comes with a fairly stiff suspension from the factory, I was really impressed with how it handled.

hmm, interesting. my bone stock EX was in STS class and they had to ask me if it was an Si because they told me the Si would automatically be in a higher class. weird.

Yea, they didn't know what they were talking about. The regions I'm in are huge, with lots of nationally competitive drivers (to give you an idea on my credibility). As of 2006, the EX and Si are ALWAYS in the same class, no matter what modifications they have. In past years, only in stock classes, the EX and below were in HS and the Si was in GS. Now, all 6th gens are in HS. With suspension upgrades and bolt ons (with street tires), they both go to STS, and with race tires and throttle body mods, they both go up to DSP. Then SM from there.

But that's all under SCCA official rules. A lot of smaller regions for autocross don't follow official SCCA rules, or they aren't even officially part of the SCCA (fairly common.. ie: something like "Cincinnati Sports Car Club".. they use the SCCA as an example, and just model their own miniature club using whatever rule modifications they want.) And I don't believe NASA has a class called "STS" either.. :what:

Lexington is my home region, and I went to all 10 events here thus far, with one fun run left to go next weekend (CKR - http://ckrscca.org). I go to quite a few Louisville and Cincinnati region events (KYR - http://kyscca.com and http://cincyscca.com/) as well. Next year I plan on being in the points race for STS in all 3 regions

Lotsa driving
