my friend wanted me to ask some ppl about boosting a jdm b16a g2 motor. he wants to get some 8.0:1 low compression pistons and put them in that motor. now with that low of compression pistons, could you push 15 or even 20 psi on a daily driver car as long as your internals are good with a good tune?? and if so, what internals would you want to replace to push that much??

im not sure about compressions and stuff....but on 15 psi u will need new pistons, rods, headgasket, sleeves, and im sure some other ppl will give more stuff.....

as far as c/r you can keep it the stock ratio or lower it. but you will need pistons and rods that can take the boost.

The sleeves may hold up but I am not sure because I am not aware what the stock sleeves will give out at. but from what what my friend did he installed a block guard for his b16 and is running 20lbs with 23lbs with surge

I have a JDM b16a. I am currently pushing anywhere from 10 to 15 psi daily. Now when that pesky mustang pulls up I will crack it to 25psi on stock sleeves. No probs yet and it has been this way for about a year!

depending on what turbo 15psi can be very little or a huge amount. but i recommend sleeves and rods

why do you want yo run w/ high boost? what is your goal? ive seen at evans tuning a B16a2 runing about 12 psi and to achieve about 340-345 WHP.

you guys should check out the stockblock b16 turbo thread on honda-tech. people have thrown down 500-600whp on stock bottom end b16's. with a small-medium turbo u should be able to run 15psi reliably. the b16's have the strongest stock rods because of there short length. Id go some eagle rods and some sort of descent forged pistons with a good tune with solid 11.5-11.8 a/f's in boost and you should be fine. but not all turbos are equal its not the psi that matters its the efficency and the cfm flow.

1 thing i would recomend are new valve springs, retainers, valves ect, so do some block+head work because honda/acura valves/valve springs dont like the harsh treatment very much
