Ok well I ordered a JDM b16a Gen2 from these guys, and I am less then impressed. The engine they sent is a piece of junk. It looks like it sat on the dock in Japan for a couple years. The alternator was white, I mean snow colored white. It was so oxidized I could take chunks of the metal off. The distributor is absolutly hooped. Not only its it all rusted inside, but it's also melted and has a hole in it. Worst part about the whole thing is that they refuse to cover any of that crap. So I've had to buy a new alternator and distributor. (I guess I should have noticed that they dont have a start-up guarantee). The compression is also only 140 on one cylinder, but the guy claims that after the engine is cranked for a while it will come back up. We'll see.

All in all I am very VERY unhappy with the quality of the engine I was shipped. My car only has 45.000 kilometers on it, and it feels like Im putting in an engine with 200,000 on it. I don't recommend JDMsource.ca to anyone.

Not really. It came to just under 3000 Canadian shipped. He also sent me the wrong rear engine mount and wouldn't send me the proper one. He then gave me the wrong info about which one I acyually needed.

Here's what the distributor looks like

The rotor is melted on, so we can't get a look inside to see how bad it is in there... although the casing does have a hole in it

it's not the same.

Just to add another little note. The idiots sent me an Auto ECU with my Manual engine. He refuses to send me the proper ECU. what a joke.

Amazingly enough the piece of s**t runs. Pulls pretty good too considering it's got the wrong ECU. Ah well, jdmsource.ca still sucks.

Locally?? HAH. You don't understand where I live. Knockoff will back me up on this one. There isn't a JDM engine for MILES. 6 hour drive to the closest place, which is where I got the engine from anyway.

I have read their warranty extensivily... what kind of an idiot do you take me for? It's one thing for them so send me a working product and have it break. But to send someone garbage just isn't right. I didn't not pay for the garbage he sent. I paid for working parts.

calgary is the closest place i can think of to get a motor...

something needs to be done about that.
