so i just got my garrett gt28r turbo
but i now i hav a major problem
whn i actually ordered all dis stuff i was planning to run only 7 psi's of boost
so i was thinking a vortech fmu and a bigger fuel pump wud do the trick
but recently my mechanic put a thicker head gasket on my d16z6 and now im plannin to boost around 13-14 psi's of boost and i dont have much experience whn it comes to turbo fuel management but do know that if i boost around 13-14 psi fmu wont cut it
i was thinking on the lines of bigger injectors wid a vafc 2
but then again i dun know how to tune it and there r NO shops that cud tune it for me in my area
another alternative is uberdata but frm wat i hear tuning a vafc wid bigger injectors is eaiser than working wid uberdata

so now what do u guys think i need ur opinions
and wud running 14 psi on a stock d16z6 wid a thicker gasket be safe???
wat size injectors shud i get???
and exactly how hard is it to tune through vafc
cuz i looked into uberdata and turboedit
didnt understand a word of it

I dont advise running 14 psi on a stock d series....

sell your body kit and build up your engine

the compression isnt the problem on a d series.. taht trick is a crappy way to reduce compression on high comp motors like dohc vtec b series, but on a d with 9.2 c/r its pointless. the pitifully weak d series internals are your problem, which are good for no more than 200 whp with perfect tuning (to be relialbe.. yes you can make more, but eventually you'll buckle the rods). if you cant tune, and no one can tune it for you they dont ever, ever run a tuneable fuel system because you'll blow up the motor. run 6 psi until you can either get it tuned, and even then, you cant run over 200 whp on a perfect tuning system (like uberdata or hondata- vafc is NOT a precise tune!).

damnn so u guys r sayin a thicker gasket wont do s**t for me
i need new rods and forged pistons
i heard vitara pistons can handle 15 psi of boost
so now im goin for the cheapest way to build my motor just to handle 13-14 psi
wat do u guys think i shud get
i will probably order the stuff u guys recommend frm the net and get it shipped to my country so links will help alotttt
used parts will also do

cheap motor build=blown up motor. if you want to run big boy boost, your gonna have to shell out some cash for the good stuff. you will need at least forged pistons and rods, and i would go with a sleeved block too, d series sleeves arent the strongest in the world. your lookin at 2-3 grand for the bottom end alone...and then you need some headwork too, another grand or 2 there (d series heads flow like ass), then another 500+ for fuel management and tuning. oh and if you dont already have em, your gonna need a very stiff clutch and a lsd, because theres no way one tire is gonna put down the kinda hp your lookin to make, especially with those unequal length axles d series have. thats another 1500-2000 bucks. i hope you have a good job or a trust fund.
