I know this type of topic has come up BILLIONS of times about tachs...
but on the real...

i installed a 52mm tach in my car and i know for sure i connected to the correct wire in the distrubtor cap cause me and my brother tap all the wires that would give the most current.

so this is my issue....i get a signal...but the the gauge still isnt reaching its rpm range...it will not go past 4k rpm..at all...even when i know for damn sure im redlining it...BUT!...sometimes when i punch it...it ups to 6 but then falls back to staying at 3-4....

so if any one of u guys have an idea or comment towords this then it would be greatly appreciated.

blue wire on the dissy, also check to see if you have it set right for 4cyl cars and not 6-8 cyl cars, should possibly have a lttle slide button for that, some do some don't.

i had that same problem, check your ground wire, and your positive wire, i had mine hooked up to my stereo deck and it wasnt pumpin enough power to it, also there is a blue wire behind the dash on my ED 4th gen civic hatch and i connected it to that for my RPM signal, all cars regardless if they have a tach or not have that wire you might be able to check and see if u have that wire, it is behind your gauge cluster, ask around for more info, it workd on my 4th gen im not sure if it will work on yours, research the blue wire idea rather than runnin it all the way to your dizzy. later
