I love my greddy evo exhaust. It is ALOT louder then i thought it would be. I didn't really notice any gains from it. But i was driving up hill today and i was in 4th gear and i could feel it for some reason maybe in my head... but anway sometimes when i am idle it makes a weird rumbling sound for like a second then stops... this only happens ocassionally does anybody know what this is??

nope def. don't have a rear sway bar... its so weird like i don't know if its just making this noise because its new or what.... i think something is installed wrong... i will post pics tomorrow... but say i'm driving for a little bit then come to a red light and i go into neutral after like the engine is neutral for like 3 seconds then you hear a deep rattle noise and then exhaust start shaking... then stops for like 3 more seconds then starts shaking again you can feel it shake the steering wheel i'm taking it back to midas on monday... to see what they can do with it... it looks great though with my rear lip... but does anybody else have the evo... i wasn't expecting it to be so LOUD! its so loud could this be like a installation problem too because in my opinion it is just as loud of my friends and he has apex n1... could there possibly be a leak or something
here's what i did i drove for a little bit then pulled into a parking spot and left my car running and look at my exhaust it starts shaking a lot then stops... then starts shaking a lot again... and then stops for good... and then its normal... and i looked underneath and its not just the muffler that is shaking its the piping too.... so i dunno just pissing me off because i payed $160 for installation with lifetime gaurentee so they better fix this... was a almost $700 investment..
my brothers skunk2 exhaust does this too sometimes when at idle...with his it's just how it is installed (but theres no other way it seems). the little rubber things that go around the hooks on the exhaust and hang it are a little too long so its' always a "little" bit lose. unless we can find smalled rubber pieces it will always do this....BUT lately is doesnt do it that much anymore.edhgreatone said:

well, it should shake a little... and the sound is prolly just ur engine idling
$160? that's pretty steep.. if everything bolted up correctly, that is.. my friend's evo2 fit perfectly and costs him 75$ to get put on.. my apex n1, some of the flanges weren't turned right and junk.. so some cutting and welding had to be done.. it still only costs me $100 for install

you could have saved those $160 and bolted in yourself, i did it on my Si and my bro's GS-R and there's no better feeling than working on your ride. its pretty EZ http://overboost.com/story.asp?id=366
yea oh well i'm still pissed about this shaking... it didn't happend for awhile but then this morning i was driving pulled up to my house and waited for about 3 or 4 seconds started rattling and shaking... its like that point where your about to stall out you car start shaking a little bit... but its also loud because of the exhaust... other then that i love it so much...
i'm going to take it back to midas... but what should i tell them? that my exhaust sometimes radle's real loud? haha i just don't know what to say
yea, take it back... try to recreate the situation with conditions similar to when you notice teh rattling.
dont worry about the loudness too much. 1) it will get a little softer as it breaks in... 2) you will get used to it real quick. i have a evo as well (version 1) and i love it. ive had it for a year and half.
