the 1 is better in imo.... good choice, and congrats. cant wait to see the pics!2kstreetcivic said:I didnt get the V2 becuase I dont think its worth the extra 115 bucks...but I got the AEM CAI 1 or what ever you want to call it for 158 bucks free shipping..
but doesn't that only mean if you get pulled over and the cop checks that you could get a ticket for one? or do they actually check emissions, cuz in WI all they do is check the computer and it takes about 5 mins and they don't check the engine or exhaust2kstreetcivic said:exactly....we have to have AEM they have to be CARB legal....wish I could have built one
i/m sure it does if you are going to have to pay hundreds in fines if it ain't legal and copps are dicks about it. From where i am around, it doesn't matter thoughbaby99si said:Intake is intake no intake is wurght over a hundred dollars its a f**king tube.
if the intake is not CARB legal then you wont pass smog....and emissions....California sucks for all its laws, so we have to get a CARB legal intake..and yes it is worth itocbasbalburg said:but doesn't that only mean if you get pulled over and the cop checks that you could get a ticket for one? or do they actually check emissions, cuz in WI all they do is check the computer and it takes about 5 mins and they don't check the engine or exhaust
why bother getting a carb legal intake when your swap isnt going to be legal?sicrx1986 said:is it the C.A.R.B. (50 sate legal) one, im gonna get me one of those when i get my ZC in April. By the way if any one knows witch cold air intake to use one my 86 CRX Si with a ZC engine PM me. I was thinking about the 88-91 CRX intake.
its not. California people just like to use smog as an excuse. Putting the stock airbox back on for smog purposes takes 20 - 30 mins tops. My civics intake wasnt carb legal.baby99si said:Maybe it is wurth it because of smog, but that is it. The extra money isnt paying for any extra power but i understand you od have to pass emissions that sucks AZ isnt like that "yet".
haha, Melt...you make very good points...and I totally agree with you its probably not worth the money to buy AEM intake and I am partly using the smog law as an excuse...But I wanted a name brand intake, and I dont want to have to take it off to get it smoged or whater ever...did you have a diy intake on your civic?....and yes, it will sound MUCH better im my opinionMelt said:why bother getting a carb legal intake when your swap isnt going to be legal? You are still going to get ticketed if a cop pops your hood (which wont happen, a cop DOES NOT have probable cause to search your vehicle for a traffic violation)

However, as part of the "stop the hating" movement on clubcivic, i wont comment anymore about this issue in this thread. Fact of the matter is 2kstreetcivic got himself an intake, and the car is going to perform and sound a little better now 8)
it was a ebay generic short ram.2kstreetcivic said:did you have a diy intake on your civic?....
