Hey, my name is Mike. I'm from New York. I just swapped my old car for a 2dr 1997 Honda Civic DX (auto). Looks like it just recently had a paint job (1yr or so old), windows tinted and already has rims. I'm looking to really enjoy this car but I'm not trying to make it into a track car or something impractical for daily use.

Things off the top of my head that I'm looking to fix or change

No sunroof
No power door locks
No power windows
Original seats ready to go
Sun visors ready to go
Need carpeting for trunk
Right front tire seems to be rubbing when turning hard
I'd like to swap the headlights out
Front lip? (No body kits)
New grill?
System, nothing too crazy
Good deck kit
Suspension? Looking for something that's good at cornering, not too stiff but not too soft. If I had to choose between the two, I'd probably go with stiff.
Door lock on the right side is fragged up, thinking about shaving the handles.

Last but not least SECURITY! Especially living in New York, theft of all Hondas is a big issue. What security messures are you taking? (Detachable steering wheel, club, viper alarm, some sort of starter disconnect?).

Everything can be found by easily searching here or google for each topic. The sun roof though would probably cost you more than just selling your DX and picking up an EX.

I regret not having an EX as a 4 door to start with. The power locks/windows, sunroof, D16Y8 vtec motor would've made my life so much easier. If you plan on doing all this, start looking for an EX coupe , you will not regret it if it's in good condition. Honda's are hella cheap and easier to work with than most cars, do things right the first time! Getting hold of an SI coupe would be beast too.
