Well I was wondering how you euro guys felt about European cars, and why you choose Honda. You probably love your Honda like me. But I dislike American made cars because I hate the pore workmanship that goes into them and the unreliability.

that's not true at all, saying that all american made cars are pieces of crap is just ignorant. did you know that some jdm honda's are built right here in the good ol us of a? that would rule out the whole "poor workmanship" part of your argument.

It's not the poor workmanship. Like pop said, many Hondas are made in Ohio. Domestics fail because of poor engineering and predicted equipment failure. Domestic automakers ideals are much different then Honda engineers. I had a Chevy Cavalier, but it only started to fail after 6yrs of fairly reliable service. Although when it started to fall apart, EVERYTHING fell apart at once. Then stepped in the Civic. Best car I've had so far.

just because some hondas are put together in the US has nothing to do with the workmanship in the parts. the parts are made in the motherland (japan) and brought over.

well there are some good English cars like TVR Aston Martin but ya common day cars such as Vauxhall Vectra, Ford Focus are ok but arnt summat special ya just seem to get that bit extra from the Jap market Ie generally Quicker n better equipped n thats berfore the much better reliability altho the servicing is a bit more expensive, ive just had a clutch, cam belt change and service n the bill came to £400 eek but its peace of mind isnt it!

machines are basically making the cars, so it doesn't matter where they are made. All that matters, like said before, is the engineering that goes behind the whole car.. pieces and manufacture

no astons martins and tvrs are handmade and signed by the engineer on the engine they are all near perfect from leaving the factory unlike machined cars!

i was either goin' to get a focus or a VW golf as my first car, i knew the ford would probably break down every other day and VW is jus' a bit to bulky but they were my only options. I have always liked civic coupes ever since i saw a feels kitted coupe in a magazine a few years back. Once i knew they were in the same price range that was it i never looked back, now im the proud owner of a '96 EX. Japs always seem to be ahead for some reason, a friend of mine has got a '92 prelude with air con, at that time ford probably didnt even know what air con was, and the germans would charge an extra £1000.
