I been saving money for a K20A from the RSX but I have came across a recent post of a K24A4 from an 05 Accord for $600, worth it or wait for a K20A for like $5000?

Keep in mind the RSX is with 220hp and the Accord is 160hp

skip it. save for the k20 or a k23 if you can find one. if your going to waist all that money on a k swap for a mesily 160hp then you might as well save yourself alot of time and get a b16a. (cheaper too)

yeah but the k24 has much more torque compare to the k20, i say if your on a tight budget go with the k24 and eventually you can purchase a head of a k20 and do a k24/k20 combo ala frankenstein just my opinion:cool:

if he is talking about a jdm k20 then there wont be much difference with the k20a at about 150 ftlbs vs the 160 ftlbs from the k24a2. even the k20a2 and a3 are rated at 140 to 145 or so. now the k23a1 (again if you can find one) has a whopping 260. factory turbo ftw

RSX does not have 220hp.....02-04 Type S has 200 and the 05-06 has 210. Regardless, I agree with doing a Frankenstein. If not, go straight k20a2.

That is not mine, I wish it was though.

One of my favorite things about that Del Sol was when he was planning on going this:

But instead he did this:

well when you mention the 5k for the k20, that's most likely the price for a k20a with lsd trans and wiring harness and shifter box, cables and ecu. and when you say 600 for the k24a4, that's just going to be the price for the longblock, meaning no trans, and quite possible nothing else. so you are still going to have to get a trans, and ecu and shifter box and cables, and once you add up the price for the entire swap, whichever motor you choose, you're going to end up spending anywhere from 4k to 8k. depending on the parts you choose to buy. the k24a4 are low compression k series and people really only use them if they are going to build the motor. basically it will be equivalent to a gsr swap. the k20a on the other hand is the higher compression higher revving motor that performs very well with just bolt ons and kpro. so if those are your only 2 choices, and you are planning on putting the motor in and leaving it stock, definitely choose the k20.

DO you have any idea how stupid you sound?

K20a2 (02-04 Type-S) 200bhp
K20Z1 (05-06 Type-S) 210bhp
K20a (JDM Type-R) 220bhp
K20a3 ( USDM Base RSX) 160bhp
K20a3 (EP3 Si) 160bhp

The only difference between the Ep3 and Base version of the a3 is the EP has a type s IM and TB.

NOW as for the K20/K24 Frank, its a hell of a beast, HOWEVER, a K20 head will not work on the accord block unless you put in aftermarket pistons. The stock accord pistons have clearance issues with the type-s head. My opinion get a k20 swap with the typical I/H/E and save up another grand for kpro and you will be good to go and will have tons of fun

do you? if you noticed i was talking about TORQUE. not hp. read again smart one. there was a debate about getting the k24 over the k20 because of TORQUE. not hp.

easy to fix the torque and horsepower problem. called a k24a2, got lots of both.
