Does anyone on these boards have a 6th gen civic w/ a k swap? i seriously want one, but i was sorta wondering what the estimated cost would be. i heard its nearly 7gs. is that true? i know you have to convert a whole lot of s**t to get it done, anyone know what is needed?

thanks

actually i have read that if you get all the right parts that it can be as easy as a b swap.

There's alot of cost involved for that swap. I'm not sure how redily available all the needed parts are right now either. I know Hasport has mounts, but as you'll see in the list posted in my thread tnk posted, there's a lot of other parts that don't come in other Hondas that you'd need.

At this point in time I'd skip trying to do a K-swap into a 6th gen. It's not cost effective in my opinion.

yeha it cost a lot more than 5500

i heard more along the line of 8k or so to get it up and running reliably.

the EKK2 mount kit is the one to get, it puts the motor up higher and back farther inthe engine bay so the intake manifold isnt as close to the rad. and it solves the low hanging out pan problem

I'd have to get a perfect EJ chassis for free in order to be willing to pay for this swap. Even then it'd still be a little steep in the end I believe. Not to mention any of the problem that might arise (which haven't been gone over nearly as many times as other swap options, therefore te answers might not be as easy to find when you need them).

hmm yeah, i knew it was more than 5500 for a swap. im really debating whether or not to just bar a b series, or just swap a k series in. I really want the k because i know those have a lot of potential, and seem to be pushing out more horses compared to the b series motors. I would probably go with a tsx's k24 if i swaped a k series in. isnt there issues with the intake manifold and the throttle body with that swap?
