So as the title say K20 or B18 swap? Have you had both? Or just had a K20A2 or B18C? From your experience what would you go for? I plan on swapping to a 2000 EK4 hatchback. I have a B16A2 but I'd like to have more POWER I'd like to achieve the 250-300Hp and for the budget, I have the money to buy either one of them I also know that K-Swap is more expensive. Could you tell me what I need? What can you tell me?

What's your budget?

I've have an EJ6 with a turbo JDM B18B (not a Type R) on a daily driver tune, and a stock non-turbo K20A2 in my Type S. The EJ6 is much quicker, of course.

When it comes to reaching your power goal, is boost an option? If you're looking for a fun car, I would recommend B18 with boost. Through personal experience it's been blast driving that car, and would rather drive it over the Type S or my previous G35. Boost is fun!

Hehe, ye boost fun. But just for now I want to make a swap and later I'd like to put a turbo. My EK4 won't be a daily, I'll only drive during summer because of the salt on the roads. As for the budget I can get a K20A2 with a broken crankcase for 1900$ and a B18C Type R for around 2500$. The budget is not actually worrying me.

I've had B swapped cars, native K cars and now a K24 swap 6th gen. I'd choose my k24 hands down over any of the others. I walked a b16 turbo del sol and all I have is bolt ons and a tune with a restrictive exhaust. You're power goal is reachable very easily with the k20a2. The ITR will take much more work to be in the 250-300whp range.

I have a 98 spec b18c in my four door ek it only has simple bolt ons and a tune and I got 197 whp on the dyno. To be honest I love it and wouldnt change it at all.

I agree with child. Ive had several b-series setups in the past, including a built b20 vtec that made 224 hp 158 tq. My k20a2 swap made 223hp 158tq w/ bolt ons and kpro. In order for me to make similar power in the built b20vtec I spent about twice as much money. This is just my experience and hence my opinion on the matter. by choice, I would always choose k-series in any future swaps. Best of luck to you.
