key pulled out while on, wont turn back

I got keys stuck on my backpack and pulled out of ignition while car was still on, stayed on...
i can insert the key but wont go completely in maybe half way, i can turn the engine off but wont go past the aux where you'd have to push inward to release key. so my stereo stays on. Anyone ever have this problem ?? dont want it to drain my battery

nope, but that sucks, i would recommend just going to the dealership to get it fixed, or attempt to pull it out yourself, but that's risky....

nvm got it working again! it slipped right in after moving it around a bit, was just worried about forcing the key in and maybe messing something up

I didn't even know this was possible. Glad you got it working. In the future if you don't want something to kill the battery, just pull one of the leads off of it.

My first car, (1986 Pontiac Sunbird) was able to so this.

I could also start my car without the key, just turn the ignition. Glad I grew up in a small town where nobody broke into my s**t
