key stuck

I just switched out my shifter switch and my key wont come out of the ignition unless i disconnect the battery. I was having a problem where the shifter was locked in park but I fixed that.

I'm not sure what senses the stick in park because unless its in park the key should not come out. So ether your stick isn't all the way in park. Or what ever determines the transmission is in park is not recognizing it's in park

I know what it is but I can't think of what it's called lol neutral safety switch?
