I have a 94 civic hatch DX that i want to install a keyless entry and alarm system. I dont have power lock. i know i need actuator to install an alarm system, but i wanted my lights to flash when i turn the alarm/lock and disarm alarm/unlock the car. how do i set up my alarm/keyless entry to do that? i havent bought anything yet. so if i could also get some place where i could purchase everything it would be much apprecaited.

Such a pain in the ass installing an alarm for the first time. Look up some write-ups, there are tons of them out there. Just google.

really? i have googled it and got some decent write ups but i just wanted to make sure i can still have all of those functions because of how old the car is.

You will be able to have all of the functions you are looking for, but you are looking at a lot of wiring with the actuators and the relays you will need on top of the alarm too. If you are new to 12 volt wiring and have never installed an alarm, I would recommend paying a pro to install it. I have seen people do some really bad things to a car because they did not really know how to read a wiring diagram and know how to trouble shoot when things do not work right.
But, if you do know how to wire up a relay and have the proper instructions and tools, I say go for it and take your time! Measure twice and cut once! Good luck!

ok im not so worried about the wiring, as long as i have some instructions and wiring schematics to go with it..i guess what i need to know now is where i can find a kit that has everything i need. the alarm and relays mostly. i was looking at a Viper alarm/ keyless entry but would that come with the relays i need for all the other functions

any alarm system you buy is going to have a TON of options. if its a viper system it will probably have what ever you could want. i have never put in door actuators though, sounds difficult. but as far as lights go its a cinch, i just ran a wire from my under-dash fuse box (i have a 98 ex, so i assume its similar for your car) to my alarm system and that was that. on some civic models, you could also tap into the green security harness attached to the radio(which is what i did for most of my functions, unlock, lock, power, etc. i couldn't find the lights though for some reason, so thats why i ran it from the fuse box with a fuse tap) but you will have to buy door actuators, but again, i have never done those before, but the lights are easy, just look up a fuse box diagram for your car and find where the lights are, tap it, and run it to the alarm, pretty easy.
