keyless entry v.s stock radio

ok i have keyless entry in my civic that came stock but my clicker/remotes dosen't work to well so now i wanna get new ones but ,i don't have the stock radio in my car which is i think needed to program the new remotes in so that they work ???any other info will be great thanks

yea 2nd that one, or that could be why its not working too well, if you want it to work correctly you have to go to a stereo install shop and have them order you the pigtail wire harness so that you can retain your stock radio behind the dash (yes its a pain in the ass) or you can just go get a aftermarket keyless installed

you removed the stock radio your removing the transmitter that sits on top of the stock radio. Thats the reason it does not work anymore.

woooo opps hahah yeah the guy at circut city said they did keep the radio behind the dash or something like u guys are saying but is that all i need to program my remotes if i get them i don't need to put the stock faceplate i guess u can say back on ?sorry bout that

the hell with getting a stock deck..get a good alarm which comes standard with keyless entry...i know you dont want to be posting about your car being stolen...civics are on the #10 list for most stolen cars...

if they retained the stock deck in the car then you dont' need anything else just go get the new remotes or take it to the dealer and have them do it
