An alarm system goes a long way. You need to remember tho is if the theif wants he will get it no matter what security features you have installed.

Personally I have a viper alarm n a kill switch

Kill switch is cheap -- costs less than $10 to make. You just need to be crafty and find where you want to hide it...

Anyone know of a good website on how to make a kill switch? and it looks like im gonna have to start saving for a Viper system bc those things are somewhat expensive!:???:

A kill switch is easy. I got mine wired to my fuel injectors. You can wire up to your ignition, starter, fuel pump so on n so forth. Just splice the posative or ground wires n run it to the switch.

There's other alarm systems besides viper. Any alarm system will work. A cheap one is better then none

In searching you would have found out that there is a LEAST one on this site in the how to section...

I've been looking into doing this as well...haven't done it yet because a lot of the diy posts out there say to just wire in a switch, but I have heard from a few people who have done that and have had small fires in their cars...kinda sketchy imo, anybody have any links to a good diy?

I strongly disagree with this statement. Any mediocre thief can easily bypass the average alarm system. If you plan to spend money, spend it right and just once. Invest in a 2-way pager alarm so even if someone bypasses the horn, you'll still receive a message on the pager remote. The more sensors the better.

Most people do a shitty job on installs of alarms. The majority of the cars I've seen with them everything is right under the steering wheel panel. It would take me a hole 20-40sec to open a door rip that panel off and unplug the box. That said take the time to really hide that box some place up under the dash or radio. It also helps to add a second horn someplace else.

i hid my alarm stuff sort of behind the heater core, and we all know how much of a pain it is to get to the heater core

if this were possible my ideal security system would be two vicious dogs and a sniper on the roof haha but we all know thats not possible. ill probably end up getting a viper system i think.
