Knocking while in reverse

I have a 98 Civic EX manual transmission and whenever i put it in reverse i hear a weird knocking noise coming from the front of the car. Even with the clutch all the way in it makes the noise. it only stops when i take it out of reverse or when i give it some gas. Any ideas?

Same thing happened to me in my last civic. Im willing to bet your car has a seized flex pipe, or none at all. So when the engine torques in reverse, the exhaust moves and hits the car. Check it out. Hope it helps.
