So after looking for a while on ebay I saw this turbo kit for my 2000 civic ex looks greats and sounds like a damn good deal. i would like some more feedback on this kit before I just go ahead and put my money and time into it. So tell me what you think and if you have a better offer then please through your suggestion in and link to a new turbo setup (please not the greddy setup too much damn money).

your better off getting a name brand kit. cuz by the time your done getting parts that those kits are missing your bout in the same ball park in price.

notice that kit doesn't have the following
- downpipe
- injectors

can't tell what else its missing, then you have to chip your ecu an then tune it...

GREDDY KIT TOO MUCH! it comes with a piggyback EMS, tell me where you can find a turbo kit, that is reputable for that price, and you dont have to chip your ECU..............dont worry, I'll wait......

turbo kits put extreme amounts of stress on a motor. Not that it shouldn't be done, but spend money on internals first, to sustain that stress. (valves, etc.)

if you do get it just make sure you run an oil restrictor and a turbo timer. the reason why these kits are so cheap is mainly becuase they use a cheap turbo. cheap turbos function just fine, but the seals and/or bearings usually go fairly quick. using an oil restrictor and a turbo timer will prolong the life of your turbo

not if you plan to run a conservative tune

I say rebuild regardless...It's just a matter of time, and chances are it'll come quickly. I would def do the bottom end 1st.

2nd, I wouldn't wast my money on the ebay crap. I have a nice Greddy setup and I love it. Save your money and do it right. Don't do it just to have it.

Like he said earlier, it's missing pieces. Hell, the injectors will cost you about $400...not to mention any other little odds and ends you'll run into. Go for a reputable brand!!!

what do you mean its just a matter of time. so your saying if you turbo a stock motor its 100% guaranteed to blow up?
you have no idea about turbos or tuning do you?

I agree with you. I've had a boosted hatch that i drove everyday for 2 years and would run it from time to time; it is stilll running strong even after i sold it. It's all about the tuning.
Also, what the hell kind of injectors is BlueSiclone looking at that cost $400? RC engineering injectors run about $250..

New 24k gold injectors..never heard of them?! :p

I say don't get the kit and build your own kit. I usually tell people who pm me to do the research to learn about each part of a turbo kit and how everypart is needed to work. After some researching they usually stay away from eBay kits and will either buy a nice kit from reputable name or build those own. I'm all for building your own kit cause that wat when you open to show your bay you are less likely to have the * exact set up as the guy next to you.

:word: haha Yeah putting your own kit together is a good idea. I mean, ebay turbos are pretty bad if you get the knock off ones, but there is absolutley nothing wrong with going on ebay to find used name brand items. 'Tis what I did, except for my hondata. Good luck on everything

Thanks guys this really did help alot. I will deff not get that kit lol doesn't seem logical. Do turbos work good with automatic civcs? I know it's fail but thats what I had to get so now I have to deal with it. Also How good will the civic run after a turbo'd automatic

Yeah, I would suggest building it yourself too. Also, the advantages of buying a used turbo that is in good condition is that you don't need to baby it for the break-in period.

And yes, the turbo will work with an automatic and it should run perfectly fine.
