ok long story short i got a ticket about a year ago and just sent in the money. okay a year later i get pulled over and the cop says im driving under a suspended license and gives me a ticket for it and makes my buddy drive home. i check it out turns out i didn't send in proof of insurance a year ago and they mailed a letter to an address i didn't live at. so i get a ride to the dmv show them a document stating i had insurance on the day i got a ticket and they were like cool your good to go. go to court and go in front of the judge where he asks me if i want a defender i say no and i explain to him what happens. and hes like well what do you want to do so i said well i was driving but i had no idea they were suspended. so he gives me a fine and i leave . i then get a letter about 3 weeks later saying that i had 6 points and the ticket i just got was another 6 so my license is going to be suspended on the 9th of feb. what can i do?

CLIFFS:
pulled over a year ago get a speeding ticket
pay the ticket
get pulled over a year later officer says i have a suspended license get a ticket for that
find out the suspension was for not showing proof of ins.
go to dmv show them i did and they were like cool your good
go to court explain the situation get a fine
get a letter saying the ticket added 6 more points putting me at 12 and suspended my license
what can i do

got traction

i rock the sohc

Definitely go back to DMV and see what's going on, start contacting a lawyer.

Sounds like this was a county issue and not his. He paid his ticket and they mailed a document to the wrong address, how was he supposed to know if he had to provide proof of insurance if he was never told so. This is one of those times where I think a lawyer will be needed.

in most states you only have about a month to get the address changed on your license. If you didn't do this when they send that letter to your old address, you're at fault here.

The DMV is pretty easy folks to get along with. Just tell them the situation and they should be able to clear it up. Just as long as you have documentation of your tickets and insurance papers. Its not like your trying to b.s. them into something that wasnt proof positive.
