Light Engine

does anybody here put an exhaust and all of a sudden your check engine lights up, by the way i don't have a cat converter. if so how do you fix this or should i just buy an aftermarket cat for it

just buy a aftermarket cat for it make it a lot easier

Hey man i think were in the same shoes. Is ur hatch a VX if so we dont have a cat. I think that our exhaust will go from the header downpipe back. I think the o2 sensor from the header has to be put in properly. When u changed the exhaust or header did u unplug the battery. i think if u do that ur 02 senors wont be reading dumb s**t. I have heard that many engine light go on after u take the cat out cus the cat has an o2 sensor usually. Since we dont have one i think the catback that we buy such a Skunk2 would go from the header downpipe back if not correct me peps. I am pretty sure about it but wanted to know more. Another thing about check engine light they go away after a while so it might just be that. It like needs time to register ur new exhaust and it will go away. give it some time and then ask more about it bro.

yeah my car is a vx and yeah i think your right about the o2 sensor does anybody here knows how to fix this problems, it will help alot

wow for you being admin of the Vtec-e you sure don't know your s**t.

1. the vx does have a cat its right off of the exhaust manifold. so when you put an aftermarket header in there you loose the cat and will have to replace it.

2. if you do an engine swap and don't use the VX engine harness then you have to move the O2 sensor wire on your new engine harness.


but in your case just get a damn cat's its not helping you at all
