Lighting Question? Opinions

I'm about to invest on a sub or too, and i was thinking about new lighting options for my trunk.

Is it possible to install a neon tube instead of a bulb in that location. i know it would require some creative mounting n such, but i wasn't sure if it would work from an electrical standpoint.

I wanna show off my system at the local meeting place. ...but not with the little yellow bulb that's in there...

i was also thinking of making a plexiglass window and showing an hx rim instead of a donut. i've seen this done in bippu cars, and if i may step out as a ricer at heart, i think it looked kinda cool. lemme know. i was also thinking about making the plexiglass a door so i can axcess a spare with my system in my car.

If you are good with plexiglas, there is no reason you couldn't . I have a tendency to crack and chip it though


1: Paint or carpet the spare tire well
2: Use the old trunk floor as a template to cut the plexiglas floor
3:find place to make it hinged, cut there and attach hinge
get creative with hinge. Make it out of a clear pastic dowel and clear plastic stock. You'll probably need a band saw and a drill press to do it right.

You can do lots of crazy s**t to plexiglas to make it transmit light like etching or sanding...I would use LEDs for the light source. Smaller lighter more durable and have great color
