Today i went to straighten up my engine bay a bit.. and i had the radio in the car on... so i went to roll the windows down.. and turn the key to the accesories position once and then again because i didnt think i got it.. rolled it down then did it one more time deciding to put the passengers down as well.. moments later i see the smoke... my nitrous wiring harness that i put together was in flames... and the now bare wires are arching against the braided nitrous lines.. small fire.. i put everything out.. there is smoke inside as well i notice that under the interior panel ALL my nitrous harness is shot.. so basicly turn acc -> turn acc -> turn acc -> fire... the system was grounded directly to the battery terminal and that is where the burning appeared the worst.. im halfway done rewiring it.. its ok because the wiring job was poor anyway.. and i have since switched to a chasis ground.... any idea why this could have happened.. at this point im simply curious

When you turn on electronics they experience a surge of electricity then level out, this surge is only a fraction of a second or less. Doing it 3 times with poor wiring may have caused a short to ground of a live wire resulting in smoke and flames.
