Hello all,

Just a few pics from the loooong road trip from Dublin to Tunis, across two seas, three countries and two continents :

The calm before the storm :

The Civic at almost MTOW :

We’re off ! Move over you fool !

Last stop for gas before leaving Ireland :

A nicey JDM Supra, just off the boat :

First in line, yayers !

The ferry to Cherbourg :

Parked for the 18-hour sea voyage :

We’re off at last !

Goodbye Ireland !

The nicey sunset :

A funny name for a city (for those who speak French slang)

Stretching the Civic’s legs a little:

An Irish invasion of Frhaance :

Passing my former city :

On cruise control for a while :

At last Lyon is indicated :

Passing a 2000-meter mountain pass at night :

A little rest before another long day :

Heading south :

Fortunately the corks are in the other way :

A nicey nuclear powerplant :

Stretching her legs one last time :

The hardest part is over :

Next stop : Africa

First in line again, note the cars bound for Algeria in the background :

So we wait…

At last the ferry arrives :

Some more waiting :

Goodbye Marseille :

A last view of Frhaance :

Another nicey sunset :

Our first glance of Tunisia :

Arriving in Tunis La Goulette (and not La Boulette)

Some more waiting is in store for us (Tunisian Customs)

We retrieve the car :

Our first taste of Tunis traffic two hours after having docked. Note the UK reg on the Opel Zafirhaa :

Arrived at last at our temporary home :

Comments are welcome :-D

wow that must have taken a while.

So how do you like africa. My folks immigrated to the US from south africa back in 1979

oh and a word to the wise .... dont try and drive your car to south africa if you ever get the inkling. Friends of my parents drove from south africa up to the uk one time and they said going north the roads are so bad youll be lucky to make it to kenya in GOOD WEATHER without 4wd.

How many miles was that anyway? I went across the United States last year with another member on here.

(Dover DE to Hartford, CT to Spokane, WA to Olympia, WA.)

pretty far. Looks like he did most of his driving in france ... but spent a lot of time on ships ..... although i cant blame him ... the only land route to africa from france involves driving through iraq!

Thanks for the replies people.
She's indeed an EX, had 51k miles on the clock when I got her, since she's USDM, auto and LHD I got her for 2700 € (around $ 3500) as Ireland is RHD.

The Supra was indeed RHD as all JDM's that come Ireland's way.

I used to live in Dublin and this was the best way to relocate as I did not wish to get another car.
The trip lasted 3 days and covered roughly 1500 km. Btw I did all the French part except Paris and Lyon expressways with 95 on the cruise control (or more) :-) Vive la France !
For those who wondered, "beuze" is French slang for marijuana/cannabis...bouahahaha !
