I have recently taken off my stock intake box, because I got a new intake.. The bottom part down by the bumper, below the airbox will not come out.. How do you get it out? I took all the bolts out, it seems stuck :what:

Help please!

I dont know what intake you bought but I have an AEM cold air with a K&N air filter. If you're referring to the air filter when you say "the bottom part down by the bumper," then yeah it can be a b***h to get off but it should slide off with enough pull. At least that's the case for my air filter. I just cleaned mine a couple weeks ago and it was hard to take off but like I said, it slid off with enough muscle.

No, it's below the air box. It's almost like a U shaped part.

I'm not sure what you're talking about in that case. On mine the only parts are the piping, the bypass valve in the middle, and the filter on the end. No U shaped part..maybe list the type of intake you bought so anyone else with the same one can help?

I'll take some pics of it tomorrow. It's too dark out to do anything right now. It's below the stock airbox, not talking about any new intake. Its from the old stock one..
Here's an example on where it'd be.
Right below the black airbox..

You're talking about part #16 in the picture below. It's the stock intake tube for our cars.

Located right next to it is a resonator (part #11). It may also be removed when you take the U-bend intake out. They are actually attached to each other, so it makes sense to remove them at the same time. To remove, take off the bumper, remove the three intake mounting screws (parts #25) and gently work it out of there. If it's a little tight, don't worry; mine was when I removed it, too.

Just remove the bumper to get the resonator out. Doesn't take too much extra time. I'd say if you're going to do it, do it right.

Also, it was a learning experiance. Had to find out how to take off my front bumper by just looks. First thing i've ever really done with my car. Found out how to change the grille, and that a 10mm socket wrench does magic.

You could arguably disassemble and reassemble the vast majority of our cars using only the 10, 12, and 14mm wrenches/sockets. There's a good handful of 15, 17, and even 8mm bolts in there too, but for any given project, they always seem to be greatly outnumbered by the former.
