Hi all.

I'm going to be racing a 97 Civic EX Coupe in STS class this season and I need some tips on lowering the car. Its not my daily driver, its going to be used for autocrossing only.

Basically, I have 16" SSR rims with 205/40-16s. I have a set of Tokiko shocks and springs that are going to drop me 1.75 inches. Will there be any tire rubbing?

no, not on a drop like that, i would say you would get tire rubbing if you did about 2.25 in. But you should be fine.

1st off why wouldnt you want to daily drive a civic like that. It will handle nicely.

It wont rub. What springs are you getting? I recommend H&R race.

Err, well, because this car is all taken apart sometimes and I have other transporation.

I might end up getting the fenders rolled anyway. Anyone have problems with negative camber after lowering?

That looks slightly lower than I'll be. I think you can go as low as 4" with the GC coilovers. I'm installing Tokiko shocks(blues) and springs. The shocks will actually put me into STX class with the crazy modded jspec integras and crap. Me and my D16Y8 are going to get owned big time, but it will be fun.

I might end up getting the fenders rolled anyway just to be safe. There will be lots of sharp turning, especially when the guys from the Mini Cooper club make the track....those bastards can turn on a dime.

This car has koni yellows/gc coilovers... how lowered would you guys say it is? I definitely get rubbing when I hit a bump while turning, or make a U-turn.
