Ok gang. Get your thinking caps out, here is my problem.
-I want to be able to start and stop my engine without using a key.
-I also want to be able to get into my car without using a keyfob or key.
I have a RFID alarm system coming in that used a RFID proximity sensor to tell when the key fob is close, then it unlocks the door and if your too far away it locks the door. so thats easy. whats not so easy is getting my car to turn "on" and be able to press a button and start it, and press the same button and stop it.
Im not sure how to do this? i know that when my car unlocks it sends a puled output to the doors. I can tap that pulse output and put it onto a latch relay connected to the ignition "on" wire which hold my car in the "on" position. Then its just a matter of wiring in a momentary button to the ignition to start the engine.
The part where im stuck at is that i want the engine start and engine stop to be the same button. I could just wire in two buttons, one to start the engine and one to break the latch relay thus shutting off the car(and in bonus that would unlock the doors cuz it would send a pulse to the door unlock, but im not sure of how the security system works yet so idk on that right now).
But i want it to be one button, like a altima or something, that way i can use a altima or Mercedes button. would something like a SR-latch switch would work or maybe this relay diagram.
