magnaflow cat-back, how loud?

I am posting for a buddy of mine and he's possibly going to be putting a magnaflow cat-back exhaust on his coupe. Anybody have experience with these? I know what you're thinking, Mario Andretti endorses them they must be good, but I'm not so sure! Thanks alot!

Don't know about civics, but i've got magnaflow on the mustang

I've got the magnapack mufflers. Sounds good. Quality is decent. The fit wasn't perfect, but i got the catback before the redesign so i was kinda screwed there. Oh well.

I used to have a magnaflow. It was a really nice sound. Throaty and doesnt sound like a lawnmower. And it's one of the more quiet mufflers (on a civic at least)

Magnaflow is crap sounds really raspy at high rpm's. I would tell your friend to get something else just have him save a bit more cash and get something nice not crap.

I personally like the look and sound of the magnaflow. Just loud enuf but not too quiet.

well, it's magnaflow or custom piping with an s2000 muffler like I'm in the process of having made. I guess he'll just wait til I get mine done to see if he likes it. Thanks for the responses!

Word when you see that not too many imports are rocking them you know there's something wrong. I think Magnaflow is more for domestics not imports. And if the saying is true: "you get what you pay for", then you not getting much cause you can get the whole catback exhaust system brand new off ebay for $250.

Don't forget the 204 mph progress/vortech civic is sporting a magnaflow exhaust. Besides, not a lot of imports are using edelbrock parts but they're far from crap. We've installed quite a few magnaflow cat backs here and I had one. The design is well done and the welds are good quality. But to each his own.

i was considering magnaflow as an option for a cat back until i turbo. then i am going with the thermal 3 inch cat back. anyone konw of any sound links for the thermal?

ive got a thermal cat-back on my hatch... VERY throaty until i put a blow thru race cat (nothing inside) on it... at high RPMs it gets raspy, kinda loud but still sounds good
