i dont know if this is the right place to post this, but here goes...
so im planning to go turbo in the near future, not serious big numbers, maybe about 200-250 max with a slight engine build. im going to put in a full exhaust system to prepare for it i guess, plus my stock exhaust is falling apart. i know i want it quiet as possible, so ive looked at the apexi WS2, but living in hawaii, getting the full system shipped here will be somewhere around $650+ so thats not really an option for me, looking to spend somewhere around 300.
i know nothing will be as quiet as stock.
ive been looking around and everybody seems to like magnaflow round mufflers in the midsection and some kind of mangaflow oval muffler at the back. does anyone have anything to say about this? what size piping to use? i was thinking 3", but if thats going to be pretty loud (im going to be running this system NA for a couple months as i gather parts for the turbo) i dont mind stepping down to 2.5 or something even if i have to sacrifice a little in power. i guess the build im trying to make is a real stock looking setup, as if it was turbocharged straight from honda. not to produce huge numbers, just to keep it nice and stock but still have lots of kick in it, for a "stock" car anyway. i guess test driving the lancer evo x kinda inspired me, i actually like how that car sounded, if that helps. although i know you cant compare, with the extra .4 liters![Rolling Eyes  ](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
and i guess as a side question, when im ready to do this, would it be better to buy another d16 and build that completely outside the engine and drop the whole build in on one day or buy a cheap d15 and swap engines while i work on my current d16? id do that, but if you saw my build thread, i have a shetload of unknown amounts of sludge in that block, so i guess to many unknowns to be touching that engine already... and also how hard would it be to go turbo while keeping AC and powersteering?
thanks guys![Thumbs Up :thumbs up :thumbs up](/forum/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/goodjob.gif)
