MAJOR electric problem please help!!

Ok so I now know that it was a horrable idea to take it upon my self to take the old alarm system that isn't work out, it was rigged up and I cut the wires out and that's when the s**t hit the fan
on the driver side wen I turn the lights on there really dim all of the lights on my driver side
on the passanger side they straight up don't work
my gas gauge reads wrong
and when I have to start my car I have to touch another wire to the ignition wire to start it
what the he'll is up
I'm thinking I'm going to just buy the whole new inside harness I'd like to avoid that huge price tag but I might have too
on some wires there showing through the casing
could this affect anything?
This is my DD so I need fixed!!
Btw I have a 92 hatch

well, everything you just described(except ignition) should not be hooked up to the alarm system. it would help if you put what car and such we are dealing with here.

so here are things that the alram can be hooked up to:
windows-roll down
parking lights-flash on unlock/lock
ignition-kill relay-this is why you cant start your car, the alarm probably had a kill relay hooked up to the ignition, so since the alarm is no longer giving the relay power, no power can flow to the ignition.
unlock/lock doors
remote start
alarm pins

thats the main ones. so the alam wiring should not be hooked up to anything that is going wrong in your car. my guess is that you cut some wires that were not connected to the alarm. which means that you are going to have to solder some, or, like you said, get a new harness.
