Car looks good bro, I like it, very clean.....
So as far as the VC being cut, there is a reason for that, it has 'Adjustable AEM' Timing gears, which can't be adjusted with the VC in the way... So getting an OEM uncut would serve no purpose if you plan to use the function of the parts on the car...
I know all about the adjustable cam gears, and adjusting cam timing etc, and I realize why they cut it, but I work as a tech and can easily remove the valve cover whenever I need/ wish to adjust the cam timing for tuning, then just reinstall, it's very easy, and much safer for your timing belt.
As far as the "CUT" made my the previous owner, maybe that is what you meant? That it was not as well done as you may like....
If you are wanting to ditch the VC just because you want a stock one, I say don't do it and just get some Wrinkle black Paint and paint the VC your self....
I may consider cleaning up the cut on this one and repainting it, then maybe selling to anyone who doesn't feel a need for safety precautions when it comes to timing belts lol
Header wrap is half A** done, so a redo on that may help
Agreed, however as my plans are to hopefully boost the car sometime in the future, I'm either going to leave the wrap, or just remove it and leave it off.
Also the Alarm being all stupid mounted lol, Previous owner?
^This. Previous owner had a lot of "bright" ideas like this, I'm slowly fixing all of them.
The wires all over the bay.... Amp wire and such need relocating and cleaned up.
Again, slowly fixing all of them
The eye lids aren't bad, I kinda sorta maybe like them lol, because they match the hood I guess? Hmmm, maybe ditch em and do some black housing headlights?
I'm actually hoping to find a decent set of CTR headlights to replace these ones
I say paint the Fog Light housings and you would be better off...
I'm also considering this, but I'm undecided whether to paint it car color, or black to match possible CTR headlights and hood?
As far as the Trunk, yes you need to pop the trunk, remove the plastic by the latch that is inside the trunk not the CF Trunk Lid, and there should be some bolts, loosen those up and move the latch down, I believe their may also be adjustment on the latch portion on the trunk lid as well? I could be wrong... Anyways that should help... Worst case, take a 2x4 and a mallet and pound down the latch a bit.. Sounds bad, but I have done it plenty of times working int he body shop.... It is the last resort adjustment to get something to go down a bit, something that is minimal like your dealing with...
I'm not phased by the block of wood and hammer trick, as I stated earlier, I'm a tech so I know how things get done, but thanks for the info on possible latch adjustments.
GL Keep her clean
EDIT: Oh and what is with the intake? Why is there a tub just hanging off, PLEASE cap that ASAP, or run it properly to the VC..
Already took care of this, it was one of the first things I did, vacuum leaks >:0
