Hey everyone. I hope you're all having a wonderful day. =)

I bought an '05 Si a few months ago. I thought I had already registered then, but it's better late than never. I absolutely LOVE this car, and hope that these forums will teach me how to treat (and tune) it right. It's had a checkered past, so I've been babying the transmission and protecting it from any more door dings or paint cracks as much as possible. The engine is in great shape and at the moment, it's entirely stock. I plan on changing that soon, though. ;)

Since this is the first car I have ever tuned, I'm going to be doing a lot of research. I'm inclined to find a tune shop to help me with installing some things as well, especially since I plan on changing the exhaust system. Hopefully there is a good one in Los Angeles....Everyone I know just takes it to "their buddy," who doesn't ever seem to do it right the first time.....

tl;dr: HI!!! :nanahitit:

Welcome. There are only a couple of EP3 owners on here actively. My suggestion for you is to research a LOT, and don't go to shops unless you need to, and/or are mechanically stupid. DIY is a lot cheaper and the payoff is much better.

Oh, and please don't forget about the 'search function' on the site.

Welcome bud. One more word of advice, as a fellow californian it's not cheap to mod a car legally in california, so make sure you know how you want to go about this. For instance other states can just buy some cheap ebay piping, slap a k&n on it and they've got a $50 cold air intake. We're stuck getting aem or something of the like thats carb legal for around $150 and other people can get awesome hytech headers or something similar while were stuck with simply dc, or edelbrock. The companies might be slightly different for your model but yeah. Anyway welcome again and you'll learn a lot here trust me, I have lol

Thanks for the advice everyone! It's much appreciated. I managed to find a K&N intake that was California-friendly, so I'll be slapping that on tomorrow. I am not mechanically stupid, but this is my only car, so I don't want to risk it and will probably be taking it to someone when it comes to playing with the exhaust system.

Anyway, here's the pics I took right when I bought it.

Welcome to ClubCivic. Theres just something about a done up Si that I love! I'm looking forward to see what you do to it.

Exhaust systems are easy, just a few bolts, and hangers and thats it. You should be able to do it yourself =) Theres tons to learn here too.

So I just did my first mod.....A K&N intake. There is a noticeable torque increase, and it ROARS at full throttle. I'm kind of proud of myself for doing everything right the first time hehe. =)

Second mod.....A Magnaflow catback exhaust. Now it purrs when it isn't growling. =)

And I'm getting the windows tinted today! Hopefully I'll get a chance to take some beauty shots.

Nice! You really need some wheels to set it off right IMO. I'm just not diggin those wheels. I love how the exhaust looks stock and not like a fart can.

Nice and clean. I would love to hear that magnoflow in action. I bet it sounds beautiful. What's up next?

It sounds quite good, alright. Especially where the intake and exhaust sound kind of meld together, at mid-RPMs. It's kind of ricey, but sounds like there is some actual power behind it.

Performance-wise, I am thinking about improving handling next. I have to really try to find any bodyroll, but it is there. I have experience with installing sway bars, so that will probably be next. Although for Hondas, I am not sure what is the best brand to go with....With Toyotas, you just go with TRD lol....

Alright, another EP3'r!

As for bodyroll, are you kidding brah? At stock height, if I took a left at a light too quick I though I was going to tip over.

Like everyone else has already said, research research research. There are a few EP3 build threads here, I have one in my sig. Browse around and set a loose plan of where you want the EP to end up, then go from there.

oh and :welcome:
