I don't know if extended metal is the same as the stuff you put on top of guttering, but that's the stuff we always used! It turned out really good and it's like $6 for a 4'x8' sheet.
Does any one the sizes for the front mesh grill for a 96 civic? the top one n the bottonw one too ...????... or pictures of mesh grill from home depots that in car?... thanks....
The material is called "Expanded" metal. Check with a local metal supplier. I work at Lowe's and theirs and Home Depot's selection sucks ass. IMO, what you should look for are either Stainless steel or Aluminum. Any good metal supplier should have a decent selection of both on hand to pick a style out. Some may not sell to the public though. Make some calls first.
Home Depot...$4.00 mesh about $8.00 worth of epoxy and some plastic zip ties.
As you can see, It took a few different methods for me to reach the zip ties...but this is how I will redo the entire thing this winter. Make sure you cut the mesh about an inch more than the "entire" bumper opening. Take your time and let the epoxy set on the zip ties before you try attaching the grill. Good luck.
