mini me swap- please help

hey guys im doing the swap as we speak. but ive ran into a problem. my b15b8 block has a notch on it. so the vtec head isent going all the way down. is there a reason, if i used the wrong head? or can i just shave that notch out? i need the car by monday...haha if you need anyhelp with rx7 give me a pm..haha

*EDIT: just realized you are using a b8 block. i think thats your problem b/c thats the 8valve engine, so wont be enough valve reliefs in the pistons for the 16v head.

Is your car a DX? first all u got a d15b8 not a b series. The vtec head is not going to fit cuz it's bigger it's from the d16, it;s not the same. So i don't think its going to work.

Most B8 motors already have the 16 Valve piston in them, with the exception of some B8 motors.Just make sure you do have the 16 valve piston just in case. Could the notch be a coolant port, or an oil port? A picture would help.
