Moonroof/Sunroof Question

Hello,

The car in question is a 99 Civic LX model.

I've searched the forums for a solution, but I haven't found a solution. The question I have is if there is a way to keep my sunroof/moonroof tilted open, because as soon as I turn my car off and remove the key from the ignition the sliding roof closes.

And I am most certain that the sliding roof was installed as an option from the dealer because the paperwork is with the owners manual and such and also the fact that the switch is located right in front of the sunroof (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks guys/gals......

I'm sure there is. There must be a safety switch/ground wire some place that tells the system to retract at the loss of power. If it's an aftermarket but factory installed option, can you find a wire diagram for it? If you have one and aren't sure what to do, post it up and i'll help you out. Or someone here will possibly already know the answer.

My first guess is it's something wired to your ignition similar to an auto start would be. When the key rotates to off, you're killing power that's holding the switch energized.... Or it's possibly haunted by the ghost of Jimmy Hoffa who oddly enough hates his sun roof being open.

it could happen

Ahh I see I will look around for the manual or paperwork that came with it because I am pretty sure I saw a booklet regarding the sunroof. Thanks again!
