I had a thought the other day (they're few and far between). On my 6th gen, i'd like to make some room in the center console so i can eventually put in an LCD screen. I had a thought about instead of relocating the head unti to the bottom where the cup holders are, to relocate the climate control. Has anyone ever heard or attempted such a thing?

i have seem it done. not sure what it requires tho. give me a min to see if i can find a pic of it.
i remember the member had a VSM coupe wiht a body kit from over seas somewhere and it was boosted. but other than that im still lost as tho their member name. i cant seem to find any pics of it

No, i don't mean moving the deck. Seen DIY's to do that. I mean to move the climate control to the bottom by the cup holders, that way i have more space to stick in a deck with one of those funky flip up lcd screens
in that case... no i have not. i would think it'd get in the way of your leg space. unless you make a whole new bracket for it to fit under the original climate control place...ImportFan1

you dont have to move the climate control for that. those in-dash dvd players that ur talking about fit where the cd player goes.renegadex96 said:

Yeah, mine is 96-98. I wanted to do it cause i wan't the flip lcd so it wouldn't be blocking nayting (ie the actual vents) This way I could possibly mount the deck lower and not have that problem. Or just permanently mount one of those 7" or 9" right in the hole (more measurements required obviously). Basically i want a set up like a 99-00, but from what i've researched it's really not feasible to stick in a climate control from the 99-00 into a 98
just researching otehr options to try to make this work, should i get some coin to stick that screen in there. As for now, i'm just going to mount one of those portable ones on the dash or some other spot, maybe the glove compartment, and wire that into my headunit

I've alreayd decided that if I ever want to install anything with an LCD screen then I'll probably have to convert to the '99-'00 climate control parts... but god I'm not going with that ugly set of knobs. I'll get an electric JDM climate control piece first. I know a few other dashes are for the '96-'98s but are electrical. But you still have to find one you like then.

I personally prefer 99-00 knobs... i hate the manual knobs in the integra.... helluhhhhhhhhhh corny.
