Mugen Type R Headlghts & Front Bumper on a 08 Coupe

The hundred million dollar question is....will it work?

Let me explain my logic with this and then someone can clue me in....

The EM2 civic 4dr and 2dr headlight and front bumper I know for a fact have exactly the same bolt tabs to make them interchangable between the 01-03 4dr and 2dr, because when I got in my accident the auto body shop couldn't find any available 2dr headlights and front bumper w/ grille shell setup so they tried a 4dr model instead and it fit fine. Of course me being the honda nut that I am caught this because the 2dr grill shell is different than the 4dr model for the 01-03's and I told them to fix it because I didn't want a 4dr grill shell on my coupe it looked stupid. Anyways, based off of this my girlfriend has a 08 Civic 2dr and I was looking for ideas to mod for her car. I came across a picture of the Mugen Type R setup but it's on a 4dr.

So my question is has anyone gotten a good confirmation that in fact the front bumper and headlights found on the Mugen type R can be compatible with the 06-08 Civic 2dr?

My thought process is that if it can I would install the Mugen Type R front end to her car and then for the sides and rear I would get the HFP side skirts and rear lip. Throw on some 18" R1 Hype's w/ mass lip and a HFP suspension kit and ride out into the sunset.

Actually looking at those two pictures I would probably have to replace the fenders in order for the headlights to fit properly. Then the problem would have to be would the front fenders bolt up ok. Hmmmmm.....

look where the edge between the hood and fender meet on the headlight. its completely different between the 2 cars. looks like its all in the bumper/grille/headlights where the differences are at

it would def be a sick swap. and for my noobie self. do we get those front ends? do base model civics come w that shaped headlights? or is it just the one he has that we get.

Such a shame. If someone pulled it off they better post a damn DIY on that ish. That would win MOD of The Year in my book. It that really your civic in your sig there?

I just thought of something. Wouldn't it be awesome if the Mugen front end is a concept of the face lift that the 09 Civic is due for? I have been hearing that 09 is the year for a face lift and damn that would make me dump my em2 just so I could do that mod for sure.

i was my car. my car now looks looks like this

yes 09 is theyear for the facelift, but they wont be doing anything like that.

it has been tried before, but you would have to change the fenders and the fenders dont fit, but you can do a direct swap of fenders hood and bumper and headliights on the sedan.
