ok guys...i have a 00 ex coupe with the stock d16y8....but i need something faster...i was thinking to by a wrx but...i dont know....i dont feel right to buy something else but honda.... so....here is the question...1st of all...If i get a JDM swap (OBD) its gonna be ok with the emissions in the states???if its ok i thinking to buy a b16b,or much better a b18c5..im checking prices right know and everything with low miles is between 4-5000$....how much do you guys think its a reasonable price fot the whole installation???

Last question....what about turbocharging it if i get the b18c5????how reliable???or just go all motor

Thanks a lot :D

how much is a wrx... i bet HOENSTLY with as much as one is.. you could build a faster straight line civic .. AWD is GREAT.. but for the money i still think you could build a mean ass civic..

the brand spankin new wrx/tr models start at roughly 24kish. unless hes talkin bout gettin an older used one. but i think...even a decent wrx, under 60k miles, is still gonna be prolly 13k+

either way...k-series + f/i = :yummy:

Hey guys, could any1 help me and my '00 coupe se? At the moment its got the non-vtec d16y7 engine with a custom made induction kit and full custom made s/s system, now i do want more power but i also want to keep this sohc engine (just so i can build one of the most powerfull sohc vtec's) so i was wondering is it possible to fit a sohc vtec head, say from a y8, onto my block? what would i need? and does anyone know a forum/site already with this info?

getting a b16b is not the best move IMO... why even get a jdm motor? just get anything obd2 if you are concerned with emissions... like an obd2 b18c like a gsr motor would be fine.. then turbo that.. and you are STILL at less than a wrx..

i was thinking to buy the 04-05 wrx with 20000miles max but the prices are around 20000$ and im still 19 plus the insurance is gonna be expensive way expensive and i think its too hard for me to afford it...i dont know yet...im thinking to stay with my civic...i know that is gonna be slower...but allways is gonna be a civic...you know...i like speed...i like torque...but if you are a honda guy its only about the way that these car looks.sound and averything else...thats what makes me to change my mind and not buy a wrx...

if you wanted something faster, you shouldnt have gone with honda. look into a Volkswagen 1.8T GTI, you can make those reasonably fast for not too much money. My buddy is boosting 24lb's and running 220hp/220 ft/tq. its a pretty quick car...not the fastest but it does the job ;)

If you do plan to swap id want your y8. with everything engine related, what would you be willing to sell for shipped? ;o
