Since this thing is essentially a Civic, I'll post up here.. I already got this posted on Honda Tech...

obracer12 referred me to ClubCivic.

This is my first Honda.. Its an 87 CRX SI...

1987 CRX si 5 speed with 170xxx,

The car isn't going to have anything major done, but I figured I would show my work...

The car was bought for $750. Day one fuel pump is going to be replaced (Tomorrow) since I ran the tank dry and merked it test driving it...

The car was red, someone JDM primer'd it black, w/e, IDC, I'll clean up the paint sometime down the road.

It has 2 quarter sized rusted out holes in the spare tire area, and a fist sized one in the front right area of the passenger floor area..

Rear windows are tinted with probably about 5%, IDK really.

The interior has been taken apart. The owner was looking for rust and only found those 2 spots in the tire area...

This is when I first bought it...

Today.. I went to install this crappy muffler at a shop (they let me use their lifts since I give them some cash every month to tinker in a bay)

Muffler I had was ****ed.. so I just threw it in the scrap pile...

Found the driver-side axle inner boot has blown up and I am sure will be clicking soon....

Adjusted the height adjustment nuts here - Now I don't slam on everything...

CRX on the lift... with this crappy ass cherry bomb... man I need a new muffler...

Fitted the intake and plugged that return... new plugs and wires too...

Today...

Replaced PCValve... Good VS Bad

Removed timing belt cover.. looks good, seems to only have about 30k on it...

Replaced Valve Cover Gasket since it was leaking... Honda Head Mike aka OBRACER

Mike Cracked the stupid timing belt cover, so we decided to just **** it and run it without the cover.. bottom is still covered though...

The plug I got put into the oil pan is still leaking.. like a MOTHER ****ER...

Oil Pan Gasket is bad too... I may just stick some RTV Sealant around the pan just to hold it over until the new car gets here Sunday so I can the pan from that...

Idle still bounces... I am gonna have to put the FITV from the new car onto this one...

Gonna have to flush the oil out like 3 times to get that black burnt s**t out...

Gotta do brake pads tomorrow...

I hit it with Aircraft Stripper like you said, it worked wonders...

The other CRX I am getting has the same Rims but they aren't painted, and probably have better rubber on them, so I am going to check those out when they get here.

So here is an update on whats going on...

I took the CRX to Fairway Motors in Turnersville NJ.

Thought my Trans was leaking, so they replaced my clutch with an OEM NAPA NKK Alton Clutch. They had Linden Transmission next door, reseal the seam between the trans case and the flywheel housing. Turns out my trans wasn't leaking, but it was probably a good idea to do that anyway...

So I took it back this morning, to get the rear main seal done, since that is the only thing on that side of the motor that would cause that much oil to leak into that area of the trans. It was so bad, that the brand new clutch, barely holds high end torque. So they are going to do that today/tomorrow and since they gotta drop the pan, they are gonna replace the oil pan gasket to.

ALL IN ALL, close to $1000, but it is my DD so I had to get it done...

Pics of new clutch vs old coming soon.
