Hi fellow clubcivic members,
Allow me to formally introduce myself and the story of this car thus far.
I Registered about over a year ago, had some questions because I got into what I thought was going to be a reliable daily driver eg coupe w/ b20 swap build. Long story short, I gave up on it and sold the shell for $750 and sold the Jdm b20b w/ p8r head matted with GSR trans for $1200 (STEAL!) that I had put all together and was ready to drop in.
Then came along Halloween Day last year, I decided to meet a kid up that was selling a "mint" del sol... turns out it had about 3 coats of paint, had 10,000 things wrong with it, and his high school buddies showed up and wouldn't stop talking about who they were going to race next in the car so I went about my business.
On the way home my friend decided to do a fresh craigslist search, and thats when I found my 96 EX 5spd coupe, 1 owner, lady driver with 123,000 original miles. I went to go look at it and was in complete shock being that this type of platform us car guys tend to dream for. Sure enough, everything was legit. She was a middle aged lady that worked at Miami Children's Hospital throughout the 17 years of owning the car and would sometimes share the car with her husband.
Purchased the car for $2900 dollars right on the spot 10/31/13. The husband had the car painted about a year prior, they just told me they felt it was time to get something new. There was nothing wrong with it all.
Being that the main reason I was looking for this kind of car to daily drive is because my 2013 CR-Z 6spd is lease and I drive about 110miles a day for work. I wanted something I can drive about 3-4days out the week, and not worry too much on the miles of the CR-Z.
Anyway... enough talking onto pics!
You will notice the car is not stock anymore.... I cant keep my hands off it and for my drive, I needed reassurance it is all fresh.
All stored in glovebox still.
