Hi guys, I have a 96 civic sedan manual trans. and this is my first time on a honda so i'm new to all this, the car has the o2 sensors bad 1 and 2, air mass flow sensor bad, but i'm short on $$ so can't do anything right now, ok last week the car started to loose power, my speedometer gauge went crazy miving up and down i went to AutoZone and they told me i had a bad alternator and battery so i replaced dose a couple of days latter did the same thing but this time died completely if i wait a few mins. it will start back up run for 2 or 3 mins and dies again i checked the new battery and is reading 10.20 something the old battery. reads 11.95 and so does the alternator so i swapped the battery but still same problem check battery cables clean them and they're ok. i reasonly changed the plugs and wires I keep an eye on then couse of bad sensors,my speedometer gauge is not working at all and i just don't know what else to do i'm thinking of starter going bad but not sure so any advise will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Speedometer could be the vehicle speed sensor. Idk about the rest. Someone should come in here soon that can help you out. Best of luck with your situation

Check the grounds on the Car a wire from the frame of the Car to the tranny .and if you have a Battery jumper you can take the starter off and connect it and see if its good if it spins fast and strong and auto zone mite can test it to.it sounds electrical.you check all your fuses in the Car.like alternator fuse and so forth, starter fuse or ignition fuse. Check those, make sure the GROUND wire is hooked up on the tranny near the front torque mount by the radiator the other end is on the frame of the Car.make sure the 2 wires are connected good on the starter.same with the alternator.check all this stuff and theres GROUND wires like the one on the tranny to around the motor one should be by the power steering pump by the driver side of the valve cover.one of these things is not letting anything charge and making them die over again i had this issue befor check the fuses inside the Car if bad change them.check them under the hood.then check those GROUND wires, and starter connecters and alternator connecter and make sure the batter connecters are on good.

Did you just buy this Car if so did it come as a manual.i did a auto to manual swap on my 99 sedan and it did this same stuff.thats why the stuff i named off is what i did that fixed mine.and like the guy above that speed sensor on the tranny pull it Out and put it back in and make sure the plug is on it good because it Will make the speedo do that .but just pull it and put it back in and see what happens.
