my cluth pops what does this mean?

hey i drive a 96 civic hatch and when im driving i push in the clutch and it pops idk what it is and would like some help.

can you be more specific about the pop?

when the clutch engages or disengages it pops not like a noise but like if you were to pop a joint back into place.
