Well I did my first mod to my civic, I installed a Tach since I didn't have one. After reading on the internet about how a few ppl have installed there tach's I figured there had to be a better way. Then I got to thinking, My civic is already wired for a tach, just doesn't have one, so I just sliced into the gauge cluster wiring. Sorry no pics of the install but here is a after pic.

This is what I went off of to find out what wire is what.

Here is what it looks like all installed and my car is running. ( The other spot is for my oil gauge )

Here is what it looks like in the dark.

And what it looks like when the car is off.

I need to trim that foam stuff on the inside of the dash so can fit better.

Nice first mod you got there. Just glad to see it was a subtle looking tach, not the mondo monster tach with gigantic shift light.

I was thinking about swapping in another cluster. but I didn't want to do the paper work for the miles on the cluster not matching the true miles.

you woudlnt have to do any paper work. you can swap the spedometer part and then all good. miles match perfect

looks good nice job. You don't even have to get rid of the foam not noticeable.

Looks tight, I was sure it was going to be a huge tach off of an old muscle car too.

What are you putting in the space on the left? You know, that big hole? Am I missing something?

I am with everyone else

-Opened in fear, 5" tach! lol

- Looks good and clean

If you decide in the future to get an EX Cluster or Si or CRV or other CTR or VTi or any of the s**t ton of cool gauge clusters, you can always tear into the cluster and match the miles or get one within a couple thousand miles and just call it even... It is only illegal to alter miles to help in the sale of a vehicle... You open a cluster to change the miles to show actual miles then you are a good citizen... You swap speedo, again a good person so bare in mind you can do it... And to spin the miles wheels is not that hard...
