hey i decided that i wanted to go turbo. im still researching on it but i just wanted to know if this set up so far would be safe and reliable for a daily driver(still in highschool) .ive been getting alot of mixed answer about its reliability so i just wanted to make sure

greddy 18g turbo kit with a type 31 I/C ,and type s BOV, turbo timer

walbro 255 pump

aem fuel rail

440cc injectors

guages

this is expensive enough as it is for a highschooler so i think i will have to keep the internals stock for a couple years. i just want to push about 7-8 psi do u think this will be alright? also will i be able to manage this set up with the blue box that comes with the kit? someone told me that my engine wont last 10,000 miles with the bluebox because its so unreliable. is the bluebox that crappy? anyways if i did update the FMU which model hondata should i get, and would it prolong the life of the engine? what is the average life span of a well maintained turbo b16? well if im missing something have something that i dont need please let me know! thanks

p.s. - one of my friends might sell me his vtec controller, would it be worth it to get it even if im gonna turbo because i beleive the hondata has vtec control as well sorry for all the questions but i just wanted to get some things cleared up haha thanks again =)

id swap out the blue box, and get a hondata tuned ecu. hondata is the most reliable way to tune your car, no matter what kind of induction you do (n/a, turbo, sc, nitrous....) f**k the fmu and missing link...get the hondata. average life is however long you keep care of it. f**k vtec controllers.

i think u just cant downshift when ur rpm's are tooo high cause it would hurt the turbo and the engine.

If your car is completely stock, the blue box will work with you forever that kid is wrong. Why get 440, when it comes with 310? The 440's will throw the blue box off then you have to spend another 500 on hondata. Get the kit and put it on and you will have no problems at all.

I have heard that to, but its not that you cant downshift. its that its not smart to downshift at high rpm's you have to let the rpms down a little.
