My good/bad day

The Good: My friend and I installed the k2motor yellow foglights to my coupe. They work great.

The Bad: On the way home from my sister's apartment, I went to make a right turn. I've made this turn a couple of times with no problem. This time, it was a problem. Apparently, there is a drain that sticks out on the corner with very sharp sides. So as I was making this turn, I hear this really loud scrap. I thought I scratched my rims. When I pulled over to see the results, it wasn't my rims, but my ride side of the car. Here's the results:

It sucks, and I don't want to report it to insurance and have my rates go up. They are high as it is. So my question is, since I plan on getting the HFP lip kit anyways, will this go over the dent? Or will I need to fix it before covering the damage with the side skirts?

I could see him even perhaps being charged with inattentive driving or something if he complained. :-/

oh no doubt

any type of gov will get out of paying you if they can. doesn't matter what kind of lame excuse they use, they'll come up with something

i'msorry, we would be happy to pay for your damages, just come back on a day that doesn't end in Y. Y days, our system doesn't allow for credits

or some BS like that

Even if it does make your rates go up a tad, GET THAT s**t FIXED BEFORE IT RUSTS!

rust = unstobable once it starts, its like cancer, we all know this. And its in such a spot where no matter what you do, its going to get wet, and its going to rust. Period.

Simply tell the insurance there was road debris on the road you tried to dodge but you couldnt swerve too severly or anything and hit it, they should cover it. Or... dont buy that lip kit, save the money, and pay to get it fixed out of pocket. Shouldnt be more then $500-$600 at most.

I got a quote from a auto body shop. It would cost $813.85 to fix. I'm going to try and find another quote.

Here are some pics of the scene.

Looks like you've been cutting that corner way too tight. :-/ Might be a better idea to start swinging out a little bit instead.
